| The
GB 300m Rifle Club is based at Bisley, on Century Range. It is, as the
name suggests, dedicated to ISSF 300m rifle shooting in prone and 3
positional disciplines. The
Club has recently installed for its members benefit, eight lanes of KME
electronic targets. Shooting
is from a covered (indoor) firing point, each shooter having a monitor
which displays their live scores. There
are regular competitions including BFRC, NRA
and Club Championships. The
Club is the “feeder” for the 300m National Squad. The squad does most
of its training on the range so you can come and learn from some of the
top 300m shooters in Europe. For the past few years we have had two men
and one woman who have been ranked in the top twenty in Europe in their
respective disciplines. You
can use any calibre of rifle up to 8mm but to progress you really need a
dedicated 300m rifle chambered for 6BR ammunition. Many
of the National Squad use Grunig, Bleiker or Keppeler rifles. Usually we
can put our .22 action into the same stock which means that we can train
.22 for 300m. The
course of fire is the same for both 300m and .22 ISSF so it makes sense to
keep the rifles as close to the same specifications as possible. The
300m season starts in March and continues through to October. We meet at
weekends, normally twice a month with breaks for the major fullbore and
smallbore competitions held on Century Range. We
are a friendly, growing Club. Check out the shooting dates on the site and
come to see 300m in action. You will be most welcome. Club membership benefits include :-
To be a member of the GB 300m Rifle Club you also have to be a member of the NRA. You can download the application forms from the membership page. |
